Vancouver, BC, July 27, 2009 - Golden Dawn Minerals Inc. (TSX-V: GOM) reports that the Company will commence drilling August 1, 2009 on its Link-Catharine Gold Property located in the Boston-Skead gold belt, 25 km south of Kirkland Lake, north-eastern Ontario, Canada.

A first phase, 1000 metre drill program, has been designed to follow-up on the 2008/09 winter drill program which intersected multiple intervals of gold mineralization ranging from 0.63 g/t Au, over 4.5 metres, and up to 17.45 g/t Au, over 1.0 metres (see press release dated April 6, 2009). This drill program will focus on the areas of the last two drill programs.

Drilling in 2008/09 has confirmed historical gold mineralization on the Link-Catharine Property. Mineralized zones were targeted primarily through MAG and VLF-EM surveys. Numerous geophysical targets, which exist on the Link-Catharine Property, are yet to be tested. Additionally, the Company plans to conduct VLF-EM and MAG surveys this season, on its Central Catharine Property immediately north of the current drill site.

In 2008, the VLF-EM and MAG surveys were conducted on the 80 Foot-Fall Property immediately south of the Link-Catharine Property where numerous structures, with similar geophysical response, were identified and pose good drill targets.

The Link-Catharine, Central Catharine and the 80 Foot-Fall Properties are optioned by Golden Dawn Minerals Inc. and located in the area of the Pacaud Fault and east of the Round Lake Batholith.
