Golden Dawn Minerals Inc. (GOM: TSX-V) (the "Company") has intersected multiple intervals of gold mineralization ranging from 0.63 g/t, up to 17.45 g/t gold over 1.0 meter and 13.00 g/t over 0.5 meter in the second phase of a seven-hole diamond drill program totaling 1,997 meters, on the Link-Catharine property, located 25 kilometres southeast of Kirkland Lake, northeastern Ontario.
Drilling has confirmed historical gold mineralization on the Link-Catharine vein system and outlined several new mineralized zones delineated by the 2008 MAG and VLF-EM geophysical surveys. Multiple intersections of gold mineralization in holes (CAT 09-01, 02, 03 and 06) when combined with results from holes reported in November 2008 (CAT 08-01 thru -04) demonstrate the presence of gold within multiple zones in several conductors within a belt which trends north-south and is unexplored to the north. All results, including those reported earlier for the first four holes are summarized in Table 1.

Geology and Mineralization
The Link-Catharine property lies along and straddles the contact of the Round Lake Batholith and the Wabewawa Group volcanics, within the southeastern end of the Boston-Skead gold belt. A pattern of major complementary structures in the volcanic sequence such as the Pacaud Fault presents a favorable geologic corridor for gold mineralization lying within the Link-Catharine property. Mineralogy and alteration sequences resemble those documented within the Kirkland Lake Camp. Drilling has been directed toward V.L.F conductors which reflect a rectilinear pattern of north-south and east-west trending lineaments, the intersections of which coincide with known gold occurrences.
Alteration within the footwall of the structures typically grades from domainal epidote to a pervasive sericite, to a pervasive chloritic alteration and into a grey and green carbonate zone. These carbonate zones, varying from 10m to 90m wide, consist of quartz, carbonate and fucshite. Gold mineralization on the property lies within strongly altered ultramafic rocks, injected with numerous quartz-albite veins (carbonate-type) and/or strongly albitized/silicified basalt with variable pyrite content. Gold is typically associated with quartz-albite veinlets containing pyrite typically greater then 3%, and in silicified basalt and porphyritic dikes where clotted pyrite is present. Quartz-albite veins with tourmaline are associated with shears, often within the carbonate zones, and where clotted pyrite is present there appears to be a correlation between sulphide content and gold values. Pyrite also occurs as disseminated grains in the alteration envelopes bounding the quartz-albite veins. The two drilling programs conducted (2,487m) over the past year have consistently shown that gold mineralization is associated with significant alteration zones over several hundred metres in width.
Exploration 2009
Exploration to date by the Company has been focused on the Link-Catharine mineral claims. Results of the diamond drilling program have confirmed the development of gold-bearing quartz-sulphide vein systems within the favourable carbonate-altered lithologic and structural corridor that bounds the periphery of the Round Lake Batholith. The Company has consolidated a 6km long land package along the Link-Catharine geologic trend having an option to explore and earn an interest in two adjoining properties, namely the 80 Foot Fall and the Central Catharine located approximately 3km to the south and 3km to the north, of this year's drilling program. Ground magnetometer and VLF-EM geophysical surveys conducted in 2008 have identified anomalies on these adjacent properties similar to those identified on the Link-Catharine claims. Plans are being formulated to explore these targets and the northern portion of the Link-Catharine property in the area of this year's drilling program.
Quality Control
The Company has implemented a quality control program to monitor the quality of the sample preparation and assay data for the drill core samples. The quality control protocol included the insertion of certified reference standards, blanks and field duplicates with each batch of 20 samples. NQ size drill core was saw cut and half the drill core was sampled in 0.4m to 1.0m lengths. The remaining half of the core is stored in a secure location. The drill core samples are transported in sealed bags for preparation at ALS Prep Lab located in Timmins, Ontario, and the pulps shipped to ALS Assay Laboratory in Vancouver, B.C. Assays have been completed using a standard fire assay on a 30-gram aliquot with an atomic absorption spectroscopy finish. ALS Laboratory Group is an ISO 9001-2000 registered laboratory preparing for ISO 17025 certification. All standards returned results within acceptable limits for gold. The duplicates and blanks indicated that the analytical results had an acceptable degree of precision and were free from contamination during sample preparation.
